📅 Booking
How do I make a booking? +
Book directly via our booking page, by email at contact@unptitboutdeciel.fr or by phone at +33 6 09 26 19 25. Alternatively, you can find the listing on Gîtes de France and Airbnb.
Is there a minimum stay? +
Yes, the minimum stay is 2 nights. In summer and over Christmas, the minimum is 4 nights.
How many people can the cottage accommodate? +
The cottage can host up to 15 people, across about 180 m² spread over 2 levels.
How can I pay? +
By bank transfer, credit card, French holiday vouchers (chèques vacances) or cash.
Do you take a security deposit? +
Yes, the security deposit is €500, refunded after the check-out inspection if everything is in order.
Are there any extra fees? +
Yes: an optional “Baby kit” (travel cot with mattress, baby bath, changing table, high chair) and a “Pre-stocked fridge” option so you arrive with your groceries already put away.
What is the total price (taxes included)? +
It depends on the number of nights, the options selected and the tourist tax of €0.80 per adult per night.
Can I book for a single night? +
No, the minimum stay is 2 nights (except in exceptional cases).
What is the cancellation policy? +
Free of charge up to 30 days before arrival (written request required). If the cancellation occurs within 8 days of the arrival date, the full stay will be charged; otherwise, the 30% deposit paid at booking will be retained.

What amenities are available? +
Comfortable lounge area, fully equipped kitchen (fridge-freezer, dishwasher, oven, microwave, filter coffee maker and Senseo machine, toaster, kettle, raclette grills), fibre Wi-Fi, reversible air conditioning/heating, washer-dryer combo, drying rack, covered terrace with pergola, garden, barbecue, plancha grill, pétanque court, outdoor hot tub wellness area, secure bike storage, children's games.
Are pets allowed? +
No, pets are not allowed in the cottage.
How many bathrooms and toilets are there? +
3 bathrooms and 3 toilets (including 1 separate).
Smoking / non-smoking? +
The accommodation is non-smoking. Smoking is only permitted outside, in the garden, with cigarette butts disposed of in the ashtray provided.
What about linens? +
Bed linen and bath towels are provided, as well as bathrobes for the outdoor hot tub area.
What rooms are available? +
Rock'n'Rose, Rosée Claire, Fleur Bleue and Bouton d'Or rooms: 1 bed 160×200. Danse des Fleurs room: 3 beds 90×200. Belle de Nuit room: 1 bed 160×200 + extendable sofa bed 75×190 (2-seater). All rooms include bed linen, towels and air conditioning/heating.
Is there parking? +
Yes, on-site private parking for 6 to 8 cars.
Is the cottage air-conditioned / heated? +
Yes, reversible heating/air conditioning for summer and winter, in every room.
Is there an outdoor space / garden? +
Yes, 900 m² of outdoor space, a shaded terrace with pergola, barbecue, plancha grill, pétanque court, bike shelter and children's games.
Is breakfast service available? +
No, but it can be arranged on request, as can any other service.
Is the cottage family-friendly? +
Yes: optional baby kit, indoor and outdoor play areas with games provided.
Is the cottage accessible to people with reduced mobility? +
Partially: the ground floor includes 2 accessible bedrooms, doorways 83 cm wide and a bathroom with a walk-in shower. Easy circulation in the large living area.
Is Wi-Fi available throughout? +
Yes, free high-speed Wi-Fi in every room.
🔑 Arrival and departure
What are the check-in and check-out times? +
Generally, check-in from 5 pm and check-out before 11 am.
Arrival outside standard hours? +
Yes, get in touch in advance to discuss flexible arrival or departure options.
🛎️ Services and amenities
Are there shops or restaurants nearby? +
Yes: the cottage is in Verdun-Ciel (Ciel side) with a mini-market/tobacconist/newsagent, a bakery, a butcher/caterer, a hairdresser and a restaurant just a 5-minute walk away.
Bike rental / tourist activities? +
Yes, many activities nearby: hiking, fishing, cycling, historic sites, markets, museums... Check with the Saône Doubs Bresse tourist office and our welcome booklet on site.
Is cleaning included? +
Yes, cleaning is included in the rate.
Accessible by public transport? +
No, a vehicle is recommended.
Is the location quiet? +
Yes, the cottage has a large country garden bordering a meadow where a few sheep graze.
⚠️ Safety and rules
What's the maximum parking capacity? +
Up to 8 vehicles.
Are parties allowed? +
No, the venue is not suitable (no stag or hen parties).
Events (wedding, birthday, seminar)? +
Not without prior authorisation, and within the limit of 15 people and the authorised noise level. Corporate retreats are welcome, within the same 15-person and noise-level limits.
💦 Hot tub
Is the hot tub available all year round? +
Yes, it is heated continuously and can be used in any season, even in winter. The temperature is set for optimal comfort (36-38 °C).
What are the usage hours? +
The hot tub is accessible from 8 am to 10 pm to preserve the peace of the neighbourhood.
Is the hot tub suitable for children? +
For safety reasons, access is strictly forbidden for children under 12. Older children must be under constant adult supervision.
Do I need to bring anything to use it? +
A swimsuit is required. Dedicated hot tub bathrobes are provided.
Is the water changed between stays? +
The water is continuously filtered and treated daily. It is replaced regularly in line with hygiene standards. The water is treated, filtered and checked before every arrival.
What are the key rules? +
Never dive or put your head under the water. Do not use the hot tub under the influence of alcohol. Get out immediately if you feel unwell. Always close the thermal cover after use.
How long can I stay in the hot tub? +
We recommend limiting each session to 15-20 minutes, then taking a break.
Can I play music? +
The hot tub has a built-in sound system. Please respect the peace of the neighbourhood and avoid turning it into a party space.
Essential oils or products in the water? +
NO. Adding any product (oils, foam, salts) is forbidden as it damages the filtration system.
Can I eat or drink in the hot tub? +
Glassware and food are forbidden in the hot tub for safety and hygiene reasons.
