Why choose Burgundy for a corporate retreat

The Saône-et-Loire ticks several boxes for a successful retreat:

• Accessibility: Chalon-sur-Saône TGV station 30 minutes away, Lyon 1 hr 30, Dijon 1 hr, Paris by train 1 hr 40. Your team can come from anywhere in France without losing a full day to travel.

Three retreat formats

1. The workshop day

This is the simplest format to organise. Day rate 8 a.m. – 7 p.m. at €400 for the privatised cottage: your team arrives in the morning, works, has lunch, leaves in the evening. Ideal for:

• Project kick-offs
• Quarterly strategy meetings
• Innovation workshops or design sprints
• Intensive internal training

Our workspace includes fibre Wi-Fi, video projector, magnetic whiteboard, plus the modular 180 m² living-dining area.

2. The 2–3 day residential retreat

Here, your colleagues stay overnight. The cottage offers 15 beds across 6 bedrooms with bed linen and towels provided. Days alternate between work sessions and informal moments. Terrace evenings, catered dinners, hot tub under the stars. What happens in the evening is often worth more than what’s said in the meeting room.

A possible setup: day 1 — diagnosis / reporting. Day 2 — group workshops + team-building activity. Day 3 — synthesis + action plan.

3. The team-building retreat

Want to reconnect the team first? Combine pétanque, mölkky, cycling (the cottage is on the EuroVélo 6) and the hot tub. The region also offers wine tastings in the Côte chalonnaise estates — a classic cohesion activity that always works.
